Opinion Infinix S2 Review: A Smartphone with Excellent Dual Front Camera
JUN 8, 2017 LISTEN

The gallant infinix S2 is a sound handset. It looks quite nice, very light weight, it’s reasonably responsive without blowing you away and the camera is superb.

If you’re a keen photographer, there’s nothing else more practical compared to infinix S2 which captures scenes with impressive sharpness by the click of the shutter key.

While we await the giants of infinix i.e Infinix Note 4 ,Infinix Zero 5 and Infinix Hot 5, its latest offering in the Hot S series, the Infinix S2, offers no major upgrades except in design, display and camera upgrades.

The Unique Selling Proposition of the Infinix S2 is the dual front cameras – a 13mega pixel ultra-wide 135° angle ‘wefie’ camera plus an 8MP ‘selfie’ camera, one with beautification functions and the other with an ultra-wide angle of 135°.

What this means is that, the latest infinix S2 13MP huge lens was made for wide angled selfies called ‘wefies’ and 8MP smaller lens for normal selfies. And so basically the S2 has been built to support groups otherwise referred to as wefies.

The dual front facing cameras with dual-tone LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture ensures that the sensor captures as much light as possible. And more light, as we all know, generally leads to better image quality.

In terms of the designs, comparatively the infinix S2 comes with a more alluring colours in Blue, Black , Quartz Black and Topaz Blue colors whereas the Hot S is also available in Rose gold, Gold, Black, Silver, and Blue.

Infinix Hot S looks premium with curves on the edges, metal frame similar to the latest S2 but do not have a metallic frame but uniquely designed.

The 2GB RAM is enough for multitasking and heavy game play. The 32GB internal storage expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD card is stupendous.

The new infinix S2 has a 5.2 inch 720p, same size as the Hot S with 2.5D Dragon Trail glass powered by a mediatek MT6753 Octacore processor.

The difference between the Dragontrail glass and Gorilla glass is that the Japan’s Asahi Dragontrail glass provides a high display protection used to manufacture the latest infinix S2.

The glass is said to be six times stronger than conventional glass, stronger than typical window soda-lime glass and has a “beautiful, pristine finish,” which can directly resist scratches.

There has been no upgrade in the battery life as it comes with a 3,000mAh, same as the infinix Hot S and also runs the outdated Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Both the latest infinix S2 and Hot S has a fingerprint scanner located at the back just below the rear camera flash.

With all seriousness, my love for infinix brand has surged higher with the arrival of the finest infinix S2 which gives a good impression of myself whenever I take a photograph using the front-dual camera especially with my female friends.
