KUFUOR'S "BONGO LIAR" LINKS HIS GOVERNMENT'S PETROLEUM DEREGULATION POLICY TO NDC.

Mr. Andrews Awuni, the "Bongo Liar" who has been nominated as the deputy Minister of Information is at it lying best again. He said in an interview on TV3 news that the petroleum deregulation policy being pursued by the NPP government started in 1996. By this, he is as usual trying to cleverly paint a picture, which suggests that the policy has been an NDC one, which the NPP government inherited.

What he seems to have forgotten however is that, all the NDC did then was to create jobs for tanker owners and their drivers by employing their services of transporting refined fuel to its final destination – the filling stations.

The NPP government in line with its "Property Owning Democracy" philosophy has decided to privatise the management of fuel. In its subtlety however, the NPP government has designed a nice name called

deregulation to make it sound tantalising for Ghanaians to accept. The NPP government now is trying to again divert attention to the NDC with regards to this "killer" policy because civil society is beginning to kick against it.

Andrews Awuni, it was, who days before the last elections lied through his teeth that Former President

Rawlings held the Bongo DCE by the neck and shook him violently even though, he was no where the scene of the incident. Things that make you go hmmmmmmm.

PETROLEUM DEREGULATION IS NOT JUSTIFIABLE – ASAMOAH GYAMFI

An NPP activist, Mr. Asamoah Gyamfi has said that the NPP government has no justification for privatising

the provision of petroleum products in the country under its Petroleum Deregulation Policy. He expressed

this view on Radio Gold recently.

Mr. Asamoah Gyamfi said, the explanations given by the NPP government for the deregulation exercise do not hold enough water so as to convince Ghanaians to accept the policy.

Mr. Asamoah Gyamfi has been one of the very few NPP persons, who in recent times has resorted to calling a spade a spade. Due to this, he has come under an avalanche of attacks from his intolerant party

fellows.
