A statement issued from the offices of the NDC-UK/Ireland chapter debunked the article published in Modernghana.com on Friday, 25 January 2013, supposedly emanating from Kawurikye Kyei-Boabeng of the same organisation. The prompt response from the organisation is most welcome.

However, it is worth noting that this is one of the numerous attempts by some devious individuals who have been put in position of trust, who are not decorous in their actions but continue to cast aspersions at His Excellency.

They are also committed to the derailment of positive programmes that the mission has embarked on under his leadership. It is worth bearing in mind that the Mission that he heads in the UK has a number of core duties. Among these is seeking the welfare of all Ghanaiansin this country irrespective of their political affiliations.

So far he has discharged his duties to the best of his abilities and continues to do so. He admits that the challenges are many, but has fully committed to projecting the positive image of the country wherever his duties take him. He refers to the Mission as a place for all Ghanaians and friends of Ghana. He has demonstrated this at functions and celebrations.

With the view of improving social cohesion among Ghanaian communities in the UK & Eire, His Excellency, has encouraged, the setting up of various committees to reflect diverse population and cross party affiliations to deal with some of the local issues pertaining to Ghanaians in the UK Diaspora.

These merits were evident when he initiated in October 2010 the celebration of the bi-annual Ghana Youth Day to explore ways of addressing the nationally rising trend and unacceptable level of knife and gun crimes affecting the Ghanaian Community within the UK. The Mission hosted the second in October 2012. The successes of the two events are attributes of his commitment and fortitude.

Through his continuous endeavour the premises of the Mission has became a welcoming place to all who have cause to visit. Many people who care to know, have enjoyed in the participation of activities aimed at fostering closer Ghanaian community by the Mission. He was particularly supportive of the engagement of professionals in this Diaspora for the benefit of the motherland leading to the creation of the Ghanaian Professional Skills Databank, a platform for the engagement between employers and employees.

A notable essence is the increasing interest and love of our country by our Youth in the UK. Furthermore, about 70,000 tourists visit Ghana from United Kingdom alone.

Notwithstanding his achievements in all spheres of life, he remains disciplined, humble, diligent, compassionate and above all honest.

Roles that H.E. Prof. Kwaku Danso-Boafo played and continues to play on the international scene are well recognised. Respectable Ghanaians in the United Kingdom, consider him an immense asset and a credit to his standing.

Such was the enthusiasm of the previous High Commissioner, His Excellency, Isaac Osei who also crossed political boundaries and generated an all-inclusive Ghanaian community. These two are remarkable Persons within the last decade. A minority minded sector oppose this positive, open and all embracing attitude bar party partisanship.

Change is inevitable, it must be welcome, however, when it takes place positively and goes to strengthen the organisation it serves. H.E. Prof. Kwaku Danso-Boafo, the High Commissioner, is an accomplished Academic and Diplomat who has to be commended for contributions he has made in the interest of Ghana since presenting his credential to the Court of St. James's.

Therefore, the pugnacious individuals whose new found brilliance is to disseminate ills about the High Commissioner H.E. Prof. Kwaku Danso-Boafo for political or selfish gains and then subject others who dare stand up against them to harassment and ridicule must be named and shamed. Therefore, the alleged culprits, your behaviours do not warrant your representation at the Mission and in the interest of Ghana.

It is, hoped that the unguarded statements, published in the social media, should be ignored and not have a bearing on any matter concerning this distinguished High Commissioner.

If you know for sure, their deeds say it loud in Mordenghana.
