Management of Bekama Medlabx and Diagnostics Centre has organised free medical screening for staff of Atwima-Mponua District Assembly at Nyinahin.

They were screened for Hepatitis B, Cardiac and other health problems.

Mr Kojo Asamoah, Managing Director of the centre, said it was part of their contribution towards health promotion in the district.

Since its establishment in July 2008, it has provided free screening for more than 1,000 people and those diagnosed with diseases referred to hospitals for treatment.

Students of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) are beneficiaries of the exercise.

Mr Asamoah advised people above 40 years to ensure regular medical check-up.

He noted that there were several risk factors, of which age was the most common, with nearly 65 per cent of prostate cancer cases occurring in people over 60 years of age.
