Mr Kwadwo Osei-Asibey, Techiman Municipal Director of Education, has urged circuit supervisors to visit schools regularly to put teachers on track and improve their performance.

Mr Osei-Asibey, who is also the acting Director of Education for Nkoranza, made the call when he addressed the staff of the directorate at a first meeting with them at Nkoranza.

He asked the circuit supervisors to closely monitor the activities of teachers so they could redouble their effort.

Mr Osei-Asibey expressed concern about the low performance of the district in the Basic Education Certificate Examinations in recent years and stressed the need for an improvement in the situation.

He called for effective collaboration between parents and teachers to instil discipline in the students.

Mr Osei-Asibey also cautioned teachers against absenteeism, truancy and apathy, saying he would not countenance wrong actions by teachers.

The Municipal Director urged teachers to be role models in the communities in which they serve by shunning alcoholism and immoral behaviours.

Mr Osei-Asibey expressed gratitude to the staff for their cordial working relationship with the former district director, Mr Kwabena Agyemang—Badu and appealed to them to maintain their loyalties.

Reverend Kubi Asuamah Yeboah, Assistant Director in–charge of Finance and Administration, on behalf of the staff assured the Director of their maximum support.
