Parents and guardians have been called to attach great importance to the education of their children rather than dissipating monies on things that would not secure the future of the child.
Nii Akora, Noyaa (Development) Mantse, who was speaking to the Ghana News Agency on “Child waywardness” on Tuesday at Amasaman, said instead of exercising parental responsibility of ensuring that children go to school they were left to malinger.
Many parents and guardians also force the children to labour on the farms,
crack stones, engage in trading and other commercial activities that, in the long run would affect their well-being, he added.
He said, his vision is education, for that reason, he would pursue development of infrastructure that would enhance child progress.
Nii Akora also advised those below 18 years not to go to the polls
during the December seven general elections, adding that, eligible voters
should conduct themselves in a matured manner during the period.
Furthermore, he appealed to political leaders to refrain from using abusive words in the campaigns so that opponents would not be provoked.
