Abeiku Bentsil of Enterprise Squash Club beat his counterpart, George Lartey, in three straight sets to win the GH ¢ 150 prize money at stake in the seniors category of the Accra Squash Open tournament held at the Tesano Sports Club last weekend.

The fierce and closely contested final game between the two players saw both exhibiting some great skills and stretched the battle beyond their wits end but it was the resilient and more purposeful Bentsil who eventually won the day.

The competition attracted players from clubs like Tema, Tesano, Enterprise, Burma Camp and Cocobod who battled fiercely in search for the ultimate.

In other matches of the senior division, Nana Adisi lost narrowly to Partrick Asare while Augustine Boateng beat Mike Danso 15-10, 15-8 and 15-7.

In the junior category, young Edem Yaw of the Tesano Squash Club stood tall among his peers to emerge triumphant when he beat his rival Joseph Anaba Adone 15-8, 15-6, 15-4 to win the GH ¢150 prize money.

Bismark Asare defeated Eben Felix in the junior division while Bukari Awuni lost to Tongui Felix 15-10, 15-8 and 15-6.

Prinscilla Owusu Sarpong, the Secretary General of the Ghana Squash Asssociation later told the Graphic Sports that the tournament had been very successful considering the patronage and promised better packages in the subsequent ones.
