GT Supports College of Physicians

Ghana Telecom (GT) Company Limited has presented a cheque for 3,500 Ghana cedis (35 Million Old Cedis) to the West African College of Physicians (WACP) Ghana Chapter, to facilitate activities of the College and boost its role as the largest specialised agency of the West African Health Community (WAHC). It has members from The Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra-Leone.

Presenting the cheque to Dr Audrey Forson, Honorary Treasurer of the College, Mr. Isaac Abraham, Chief Manager/Corporate Communications said it was GT's aim to help individuals and healthcare institutions to eliminate inequalities and diseases from society.

Dr Forson expressed the College's appreciation for the gesture saying it was coming at an opportune time.

The College promotes professional training of physicians in West Africa and helps raise standards of professional practice, ethics and morals of physicians in West Africa. It also determines persons to be designated as specialist physicians after due consideration of their training, qualifications and experience. while assisting the West African Postgraduate Medical College in the formulation of policies on Postgraduate Medical Education in West Africa .
