The Amansie South District Director for the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Mr. Ariston Antwi has called on Ghanaians to consider the District Level Elections as catalyst for promoting peaceful coexistence and national cohesion.

Dwelling on the imp or tance of the District Level Elections and the need for citizenry participation in the local gove r nm e nt for the system t o achieve its full potential, there ought to be a crop of dedicated, self-spirited and patriotic citizens who must offer good leadership and be a motivation for the greater majority of the citizenry to participate in decision making at all levels of governance.

He however admonished the citizenry to appreciate the huge responsibilities of the of Assembly and unit committee members as agents of socio-economic transformation and development in their communities stressing that assembly and unit committee members offer their services pro bono.

The Civic educator appealed to the electorates to turnout in their numbers to vote in next week polls which will eventually deepen Ghana’s credentials as far as its democracy is concerned in an atmosphere of peace without recourse to our national security.
