Madina MP Francis Xavier-Sosu has issued an unqualified apology over his use of vulgar language during the #OccupyBoG protest held on Tuesday, October 3.

In a statement released by his office, on Wednesday, October 4, Mr. Xavier-Sosu expressed regret for his actions, acknowledging that they were inappropriate and asked for forgiveness from those who were offended.

The viral video captured the Madina MP hurling insults in the Ga language at the managers of the Bank of Ghana.

The use of vulgar language sparked criticism and condemnation from various quarters, prompting Sosu to apologise.

In his statement, Mr. Xavier-Sosu noted, "I wish to sincerely apologize for my choice of words during my outburst yesterday, Tuesday, October 3, 2023, during the Occupy BOG Demonstration."

The MP attributed his outburst to the accumulated pain, frustration and disappointment he has towards the management of the Bank of Ghana due to the current state of affairs.

He acknowledged that while his words were spoken out of anger and extreme provocation, they were completely out of character for him.

"I have reflected and realized that though I spoke those words out of anger and extreme provocation, I was completely out of character," he stated.
