2024 election will be about the economy, the interest of the youth – Dr. Kwabena Duffuor

Former Bank of Ghana (BoG) Governor, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor has disclosed that the next government of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will prioritise creating jobs for the youth.

This he argues is because the 2024 general elections will be about the economy and how to create jobs for the youth.

Speaking to Citi TV in an interview, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor said the NDC has addressed unemployment before and will do the same when it comes to power.

“You see, when you talk about growth, job creation is important. The unemployment situation was low during 2012, 2013 the figures are there. During our time Ghanaians didn’t have problems with jobs. You can ask as compare to now.

“2024 election will be about the economy and trying to create jobs for the youth. The interest of the youth and the working class so we will put in place a programme to create jobs for the youth,” Dr. Kwabena Duffuor who also served as former Finance Minister shared.

Meanwhile, the Politician and Businessman has pledged that after failing in his quest to become the next flagbearer of the NDC, he is ready to campaign for elected flagbearer John Dramani Mahama.

He insists that the NDC has given Ghana the best governance since independence and will support the party in all endeavours to ensure it wins power from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) next year.
