THE Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the weekend hosted the alumni of the Mensah Sarbah Hall of the University of Ghana, Legon, to a dinner at the Manhyia palace.
The function was to create a platform for the Asantehene to interact and share ideas with the Vikings as regards to the development of the Hall.
Besides, it formed part of a fund-raising programme for the construction of the Mensah Sarbah Hall Annex C on the University campus.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu, who is an honorary Fellow of the Hall, has already donated ¢100 million towards the project which is under construction.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Asantehene advised both public and private office holders to do more in contributions towards the country's socio-economic development.
He was hopeful that with the numerous intellectuals in the various sectors of the economy, solutions to the country's development problems should be forthcoming.
He therefore, encouraged intellectuals to intensify their efforts at supporting the national development drive.
Earlier in the morning, the Vikings took a guided tour of the palace.
