What Ghanaians need to know about Islam

Feature Article What Ghanaians need to know about Islam
MAY 21, 2021 LISTEN

Islam is supposed to be a very peaceful religion. Unfortunately, the means by which the Islamic faith is propagated in most Islamic States, is a bit problematic for minority Christian groups in the said States.

It is my prayer that God gives our Muslim Leaders, special grace to enable them adjust their propagation strategy, for a genuine coexistence and for the good of all humanity.

With all due respect, in most cases, when Muslims see themselves as a minority, in any part of the world, they do everything possible to fight and cry for democracy, to enable them, have their way and say.

They also try very hard to live peacefully with those in the majority. But as soon as they see themselves in the majority, in any country or state, they take the state or country by storm and impose Sharia on everybody. Freedom of religion in most cases, is thrown to the dogs.

North Africa, used to be a Christian territory, but the Muslims took advantage of the calmness of the Christians and waged war on them. Christian Churches were burnt down, some were taken over and transformed into mosques. Christians were forced to become Muslims, those who refused to be Muslims were either killed or forced to flee.

The Muslims made attempts to extend their war to Europe, but through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, they were defeated, hence, they were unable to continue with their agenda to use force and violence to make everybody a Muslim.

Recently, in Northern Nigeria, Christian churches were burnt down by Muslims. This strategy is nothing else but a preparation to turn the Northern part of Nigeria into Islamic State, where, everybody will be forced to adhear to Sharia. I am not sure if sharia is already imposed in Northern Nigeria.

In Saudi Arabia, you dare not think of selling a Holy Bible or build a chapel. Yet, around the Vatican City, they have taken advantage of the secularism and democracy practised in Rome, to build a very huge mosque. Can you imagine this?

In Ghana today, Muslims and Christians live in peaceful coexistence. But nobody knows what will happen in Ghana, if our Muslim bothers and sisters, see themselves as the majority in Ghana.

Ghanaian Muslim Clerics, are using democracy and secularism, practised in Ghana, to have their say and way in mission schools. They are doing everything possible to make sure that they build mosques in mission schools.

The question we all need to ask as Ghanaians, is, will our Muslim bothers and sisters, especially, their Clerics, allow Christians to have their say and way in their schools? Will they allow Christians to build chapels in their schools?.

My main objective of writing this piece, IS NOT to make Islam unpopular, or disgrace Muslims, no! My main objective is to promote 'give & take' attitude, so that Muslims and other worshippers of God, may have genuine, pragmatic, factual and sustainable coexistence, that can promote unity and peace, for the good of all humanity. Such an attitude will demonstrate that indeed, we all come from one stock, Adam and Eve.

Hence, if Muslim men are encouraged to marry non Muslim women, non Muslim man should be allowed to marry Muslim Women. If the Roman Catholic Holy See or the Vatican City, in Rome, has allowed Saudi Arabia to sponsor the building of a very huge mosque, around the Vatican City, Saudi Arabia should do well to allow the propagation of Christianity in Saudi Arabia, in Freedom and Peace.

In case I am wrong in my opinion, I stand for correction.
