Why President Nana Akufo-Addo Should not Retain Kumawu Sekyere District DCE

Why President Nana Akufo-Addo Should not Retain Kumawu Sekyere District DCE
10.02.2021 LISTEN

Once bitten, twice shy. I hope the President and the NPP leadership will learn, or have already learnt, a bitter lesson, from the clearly poor performance of the NPP in election 2020. Many a farsighted and selfless Ghanaian having the collective welfare of Ghanaians and the prosperity of the nation at heart, had expected the NPP to perform exceedingly better than the results they obtained to culminate in a hung parliament for Ghana.

From the face or look of a hung parliament, it will not augur well for the administration of President Nana Akufo-Addo. However, as we should also see opportunities in disasters or misfortunes to avail ourselves of them by way of exploiting our limited potentials advantageously, learning lessons from why we ended up in such disasters, to avoid their recurrence, I hope this publication will be very useful to the President and the NPP faithful as a whole.

The Kumawu Sekyere District Chief Executive, Mr Samuel Addai Agyekum, from my practical observations of his conduct and the performance of his office duties, is not fit for a purpose. He has not only been performing abysmally but also, he is an inimical liar. On a number of occasions, I have had to publish articles exposing his lies, reprimanding him and offering him suggestions as to how best to execute his office duties.

I am always of the candid opinion that it does not take you to hold a responsible position in government in a nation before you can be of effective service and importance to your nation and people. Therefore, as a person devoted to being of service to my people, nation and humanity at large, I do not hesitate to pass on my good ideas to those in positions of power in case they will see their usefulness to implement them.

Mr Samuel Addai Agyekum has many a time been on the airwaves telling the whole nation about the many good development works the NPP government has been carrying out in the Kumawu Sekyere District. In all such announcements as I become aware of, I make phone contacts to Kumawu and task my contacts to investigate them for me. In almost all such occasions, the DCE is found to be lying.

Those who follow me, reading my publications, will bear me out that I had published a number of articles purporting to dissuade him from feeding the nation with lies as his lies are too expensive to cost the district or the Kumawu Constituency from getting their fair share of the national cake from the NPP government, although being the most trusted district or constituency to almost always vote for the Danqua-Busia-Dombo political tradition, thus the UP, PP, PFP and NPP.

Truly as said, Kumawu District or constituency had not benefitted from the Nana Akufo-Addo’s presidency unlike other constituencies that even did not vote for him and his party, partly due to the incompetence and lies to the contrary as often told on the television and radios by Samuel Addai Agyekum.

Additionally, he has for his selfish aspirations and motives, been at loggerheads with the Member of Parliament for the Kumawu constituency for the entire period that he has been holding the office of the DCE. This in itself has contributed to the inability of the district or the constituency getting developed.

Let us cast our minds back to the 7 December 2020 parliamentary elections and how an independent candidate, Mr Duah, successfully rubbed shoulders with the incumbent MP. I bet you, and believe you me, if this Kumawu subject residing in the USA had been in Ghana for at least a year, but not just six months or so to the election, and shown interest in the parliamentary contest, he could easily have beaten the incumbent MP. He pulled eleven thousand (11,000+) votes while the MP pulled fourteen thousand (14,000+).

From the information reaching me as obtained from the ground, the DCE as a saboteur, was secretly supportive of all the candidates that had contested the incumbent MP right from the NPP primaries to the actual parliamentary election. If the independent candidate had won the Kumawu seat, the NPP would by now be wobbling or mired in parliamentary opposition to worsen the plight of President Nana Akufo-Addo in his second term of office.

Finally, I shall not only advise the President to see the practical importance of the adage, “Had I known is always at last”, but neither to accept the renewal plea on behalf of Samuel Addai Agyekum, nor a new candidate for DCE to be presented to him by one Mr Daniel Adusei from Kumawu, the former NPP Constituency Chairman. This man also does not within his heart represent the collective interests of the constituents and the constituency but his stinking selfish interests, according to the information available to me of which I do believe without a shred of doubt.

The President must please listen to the voice of the larger NPP delegates or members in the constituency since they have the power to make it or break it, as seen in the recent past general elections throughout Ghana. Their wish must be done. They know who is good and who they trust to do the job satisfactorily for them.

I hope the previously obstinate decision or resolve by the NPP leadership to impose candidates of their choice on districts, constituencies, etc., in opposition to the wish of the NPP members in the constituencies will be a thing of the past, learning from the election 2020 results, the culmination of the same mistakes committed during the appointments of MMDCEs and NPP primaries contestants.

I hope the President and the NPP leadership will listen to me in good ears.

Samuel Addai Agyekum to me is a complete misfit, a liar and a saboteur.

I had him as one of my WhatsApp contacts who was forwarded every publication that I put out online, whether it was about him or not. Therefore, he is aware of how I have been critiquing his poor performance, lies and incompetence. However, for the past year or so, he has blocked me because he probably felt uneasy with my truthful publications about him. I never sent him any private texts but my online publications of which today’s is an example.

The truth hurts but in the end it brings comfort.
