Ghanaian highlife and Afrobeats sensation King Promise has been listed on the billing for the upcoming Afro Nation festival set to take place in Detroit, USA on August 17-18, 2024.

Organisers have unveiled the third wave of artists scheduled to perform at the two-day event held at the historic Bedrock's Douglass Site.

King Promise will share the stage with international superstars like Nigerian singers Rema, Asake, American rappers Lil Wayne and Kash Doll.

Other notable African acts on the bill include Nigerian artists Adekunle Gold, Kizz Daniel, Omah Lay, Ayra Starr.

South African talents Uncle Waffles, Musa Keys, DBN Gogo, and 2Wobunnies are also scheduled to perform.

King Promise joins the elite roster after earning widespread acclaim for his hit single "Terminator", released in 2023.

With tens of thousands of attendees expected, the Detroit edition of Afro Nation promises to be one of the biggest celebration of African music and culture ever held in the United States.

The two-day festival will take over the iconic Bedrock's Douglass Site, a historic site that was formerly home to Motown legends like Diana Ross and Smokey Robinson.

Fans are excited to see King Promise on the Afro Nation lineup and sharing the stage with hip-hop heavyweight Lil Wayne at a time he is contesting to win the Telecel Ghana Music Awards’ Artist of the Year slated for June 1.

Last year, Burna Boy and Davido’s Afro Nation Detroit 2023 event drew tens of thousands of participants each day to the Douglass Site in Bedrock.

Ahead of the festival, Afro Nation hosted a series of homecoming talks for industry professionals and artists, covering topics such as music innovation, entrepreneurship and more.

Detroit’s is the only scheduled Afro Nation event in the United States in 2024.
