‘Ghanaians should help themselves, not rely on politicians who always fail us’ — Kwesi Arthur

Popular Ghanaian singer Kwesi Arthur is urging Ghanaians to take their futures into their own hands and not rely too heavily on politicians to fix the country's economic problems.

In an interview with YouTube content creator Kwadwo Sheldon, the Grind Day crooner opined on the current hardships facing many Ghanaians due to rising costs of living.

When asked about his views on politicians and their handling of the economy, Kwesi Arthur observed that improper handling od the economy has been the norm for a very long time.

"I think every individual should just do the best in their power to, you know, be the change they want to see as well. Don't try depend on anybody. Or have expectations for these people. Because we expected for so long,” the singer told Sheldon.

“My grand mummy, she died at 80 something years old. And like, every time, she would talk about like how the problems of the country. you know, and it's like the past generations, every time somebody new comes inside, the same thing. It gets even worse," he stressed.

Arthur argued that politicians will not truly act in the interests of ordinary Ghanaians given their privileged upbringings and lifestyles.

“Their children are in schools abroad or international school but you expect him to take good decisions for your kid who is schooling at some governments schools. That didn't make any sense," he noted.
