In a recent interview with Nana Quasi Wusu PMdepresenter on Y 97.9 FM in Takoradi, renowned Ghanaian gospel musician Ewuraba Eesi weighed in on the ongoing discussion surrounding gospel music and awards.

Eesi, known for her soul-stirring melodies and impactful lyrics, expressed her perspective on the significance of music awards in the gospel genre. While acknowledging the value of recognition, she emphasized that her primary focus is not on winning awards but on using her talents to honor God and uplift listeners.

"For me, as much as I am not working solely for an award, I also feel appreciated when I am awarded because it tells that I’m doing something for God that God has really appreciated and people have also appreciated," remarked Eesi during the exclusive interview.

Addressing the controversy surrounding the topic, she reiterated that there is nothing inherently wrong with receiving awards as a gospel artist, viewing it as part of the overall recognition and appreciation for her craft.

Eesi, who is currently on a media tour to promote her latest single "Nya Confidence," has been a prominent figure in the gospel music scene since her breakthrough with the album "Confidence" in 2013.

The accomplished singer-songwriter has garnered numerous accolades throughout her career, including the Best Gospel Song of the Year award at the Western Music Awards in 2022 and the Gospel Artist of the Year titles at the Ghana Youth Awards and Ghana Innovation Awards in 2020. Additionally, she has received nominations at prestigious events such as the National Gospel Music Awards and the Western Gospel Awards, further solidifying her status as a leading figure in the genre.

With hit songs like "Aseda," "Gyinapintsin," and "Perfect Love," Eesi continues to captivate audiences with her powerful vocals and heartfelt performances. Her contribution to gospel music extends beyond the borders of Ghana, as she has showcased her talent at various events both locally and internationally.

In 2023, Eesi organized the highly successful "Arukah Xperience" gospel music concert, featuring top artists such as Nana Yaw Asare and Diana Hammond. The event, which drew music enthusiasts and Christians from diverse backgrounds, further cemented Eesi's reputation as a trailblazer in the gospel music industry.

As a talented gospel singer and dedicated educator, Ewuraba Eesi remains committed to spreading positivity and inspiration through her music, leaving an indelible mark on listeners worldwide.
