Let’s be honest, Ghanaians aren’t at Grammy stage yet; it has always been Nigerians dominating — Pappy Kojo

Ghanaian rapper, Pappy Kojo, has sparked controversy with his recent comments about the Grammy Awards, expressing surprise at the notion that Ghanaians are at a stage of being considered for Grammy nominations.

In an interview on Ameyaw TV, Pappy Kojo revealed his unawareness of Ghanaians filing for Grammy nominations.

He stated, "I didn’t even know Ghanaians have reached where we get nominated for Grammys, I don’t know."

He noted that when it comes to the Grammys, Nigerians are always picked.

Making a bold statement, Pappy Kojo indicated that historically, the Grammy Awards have been dominated by Nigerians.

He expressed skepticism about Ghanaians making any impact in Grammy nominations, saying, "Let’s be honest, I didn’t know because it’s been the Nigerians, for the past I don’t know when, and I didn’t know that it’s our turn."

Pappy Kojo further clarified a previous statement about winning a Grammy for Ghana, explaining that, being of Italian descent with a Ghanaian mother, he intended to do it for his mom and not for Ghana.
