Renowned Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has praised mortuary workers while lamenting the difficult conditions they operate in.
Sarkodie bemoaned how mortuary work comes with several challenges but receives little reward or recognition.
The music star emphasized that the sector is "one of the hardest and riskiest jobs" yet remains "underrated and underpaid."
In a post X on Friday, addressing the planned nationwide strike by the Mortuary Workers Association of Ghana (MOWAG), Sarkodie asserted "This is one of the underrated/underpaid jobs yet one of the hardest and riskiest jobs. They deserve the right salary, equipment and environment to work effectively..."
His remarks come as MOWAG prepares to commence an indefinite strike from November 29 due to unaddressed grievances.
The association cited some long-lasting grievances that have remained unresolved despite various attempts.
