Ghanaian singer and songwriter Fameye is celebrating his 29th birthday today, Monday, September 11.
The popular Afrobeats artist, known for emotional hits like "Nothing I Get", marked the occasion by sharing a simple but cheerful tweet reading "cheers to 29."
Born Peter Famiyeh Bozah in Accra on September 11, 1994, the singer who hails from Bogoso in the Western Region, has quickly risen to become one of the country's top musical acts.
After getting his start on the MTN Hitmaker talent competition, he broke through in 2018 with his hit single "Nothing I Get."
The song's remix featuring Ghanaian stars Medikal, Article Wan, and Kuami Eugene further boosted Fameye's popularity.
Since then, the introspective singer has scored other hits like "Mati," and "Praise." His unique style, combining Ghanaian highlife with contemporary Afropop and hip hop influences, has earned him praise for pushing the evolution of the country's sound.
Fameye's success has been recognized on numerous occasions such as the Best New Artist of the Year award at the 2020 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs).
