Popular Ghanaian highlife singer and songwriter Akwaboah rang in his birthday yesterday with glowing pictures posted across social media.
“We’ve come this far by faith...And this can Only be GOD.. happiest +1 to me," wrote Akwaboah in a post commemorating the occasion.
The talented musician, whose real name is Gladstorm Kwabena Akwaboah Jnr, hails from Mampong Beposo. He comes from a musical family.
His father is the late legendary highlife artist Kwadwo Akwaboah.
Akwaboah first made his mark as an acclaimed songwriter, penning hits such as "Daa Ke Daa" for Becca and "Ayeyi Ndwom" for DSP Kofi Sarpong.
Both songs won major awards at the 2010 Ghana Music Awards, with Akwaboah taking the "Song Writer of the Year" honor.
Not only a gifted songwriter, Akwaboah is a master keyboardist who has performed alongside international stars like Hugh Masekela and John Legend.
He was signed to BET Award-winner Sarkodie's Sarkcess music label and produced Sarkodie's fourth album "Mary."
The versatile musician also serves as a judge on popular kids' program "Nsromma" by Accra-based Adom TV.
His albums include the 2018 release "Matters of the Heart."
Each year on Valentine's Day, Akwaboah hosts his popular "Shades of Love" concert.
As he turned another year older, the sensational singer had plenty to celebrate and showcase on his special day.
