Ghanaian movie producer and actress, Yvonne Nelson has revealed her eagerness to bring the local movie industry back to life.

The actress noted that it will take the local filmmakers to revive the industry and make it more attractive like it used to be.

When promoting her upcoming movie, "Kotoka," on Accra-based 3 Music Network, the dynamic actress said she would like her colleagues like John Dumelo and Majid Michel to also start investing in movies as she has been doing.

"We have to invest in the industry, and if we don't, we don't expect outsiders, people who don't even know anything about the business, to come and invest. We know it, and this is what we do.

"So I was expecting to see John Dumelo start directing. I am always bugging Majid to direct you know. It's really just us, and I feel like we've given up too easily, and things are the way they are because of us. We have to sit up and do something about it," she noted.

"It works, and for me, it's a business, and I have the passion. I just cannot see myself not producing anymore. I believe I am going to be around for a long time. The thing is, my colleagues and I have to invest," Yvonne Nelson stressed.

The calls to get the industry fixed, according to her, have now become a broken record with her because she has been hitting on that for a very long time.

The "Princess Tyra" lead actress noted that she is currently tired of courting support for the revival of the once vibrant industry, but she will always play her part.

"I don't blame anyone, but I believe you guys (the media) talk about what you see. It's obvious the industry is not as vibrant as before, and I am sick and tired of talking about this subject. I am tired of it. For me, I am doing my part," she said.
