Moesha Boduong is unperturbed by criticism and insults by some Ghanaians over a statement she recently made in a CNN interview.
The model and actress told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour that the Ghanaian economy is so hard that some Ghanaian women (just like herself) only survive by sleeping with married men.
“In Ghana, our economy is such a way that you need someone to take care of you. You can’t make enough money as a woman here. Because even when you want to get an apartment, in Ghana they take two years’ advance and I just started working where will get money to pay?” she said.
This has engendered debates on social media and other media platforms with some raining invective on Moesha for painting a wrong picture about Ghanaian women.
Responding to her critics she posted on her Facebook page: “allow the Saints to throw stones at you. Gather them and use it to build your house. Good Morning.”
This issue has also reignited the argument of how women are exploited by men for jobs and other favours.
