Morning shows on radio which are basically socio-political, are regarded as the opiate of most radio enthusiasts. Kwame Sefa Kayi (Peace Fm), Kwasi Aboagye (Neat FM) are some of the numerous radio morning show hosts who have lifted the bar for morning shows in Ghana.

Surprisingly, well respected radio broadcaster, Akwasi Boateng, has indicated that he’s back to Accra-based Hot 93.9Fm to change the face of radio Morning Shows not only in Accra but in Ghana as a whole.

Akwasi Boateng who was a morning show host at Hot Fm, was transferred to Fox Fm; which happens to be a sister-station of Hot Fm in 2014.

In an exclusive interview with razzonline.com , Akwasi Boateng affirmed emphatically that , he is back to change the face of Morning shows on radio:

“I feel very honoured to be back in Accra. Doing radio in Accra is very herculean–let alone the morning show which happens to be the favourite…but all the same, i have done it before so coming back is not all that a challenge to me…

“Its true that the Kwame Sefa Kayis, and the Kwasi Aboagyes are doing tremendously well, but they mostly focus on the political issues so am back and one of my biggest priorities is to change the face of the morning show by focusing on the social issues more…i wouldn’t want to talk too much, just listen to my show on Hot 93.9Fm every morning from 6:30 to 10am– from Monday to Friday .

Born in real life as Benjamin Boateng, Akwasi Boateng started his radio career at Asta Fm in Techiman in 2004 as a Dj,bProducer and a news editor. A product of Ghana Institute of Journalism(GIJ), Kwasi Boateng hails from Nkenkaasu in the Ashanti Region.
