Bold-talking coach Mallam Yahaya has reiterated his interest to coach Ghana Premier League record champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

The ex-Black Stars midfielder after his retirement decided to venture into coaching. He has managed to coach teams such as Nzema Kotoko and New Edubiase.

Meanwhile, he has always had his eye on the Asante Kotoko coaching job. In some past interviews, he has even gone on to say that he will guide the Porcupine Warriors to win the CAF Champions League if he is given the chance.

Speaking to Light FM today, Coach Mallam Yahaya who has been hired as an assistant coach for Karela United has indicated that his eyes remain on the coaching job at Kotoko which is currently held by Coach Maxwell Konadu.

“Moving to Karela is another step for me. The target is to coach Kotoko. And I think sometimes before you reach your destination you have to go somewhere and prove your worth.

“I have said it time and time again I will coach Kotoko one day and I’m the person who will win the champion league for them. And it will come to past”, the 45-year-old said.

At Karela United, Coach Mallam Yahaya will be working as a deputy to former Medeama SC coach Evans Adotey.
