Cape Coast Pitch Invader Grateful After Meeting Thomas Partey

Suleman Awal, Ghana’s first official pitch invader has expressed his gratitude after Black Stars midfielder and his idol Thomas Partey granted him his wish of meeting and taking a picture together.

The 25-year-old professional Nurse invaded the Cape Coast Stadium a week ago when they Black Stars locked horns with their counterpart of South Africa in an opening Group C match in the qualifiers to the 2020 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Having been arrested and put in a cell for two nights for unlawful entry and disturbing of public peace, Suleman Awal was released and cautioned not to repeat the act.

Thomas Partey despite condemning the act decided to grant the wish of the pitch invader and has taken a picture with Awal whiles gifting him one of his iconic Black Stars number 5 jersey.

Following the kind gesture, Suleman Awal who felt humbled says he is grateful to the Atletico Madrid midfielder.
