Ghana striker, Caleb Ansah Ekuban will undergo surgery on today, Friday, September 13, 2019, after suffering an injury in training on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old suffered the injury in training after breaking a bone in his left foot following a challenge by Fernandes.

The former Leeds United forward could sit out for 4-6 weeks.

“Our team’s training this evening left foot injury suffered by Caleb Ekuban will be sent for examination, taking X-ray and tomography to be evaluated by the health board. Caleb Ekuban is deemed necessary to undergo surgery,” the club stated on its website.

Ekuban, who has scored five in seven games already this season will miss the games against Gençlerbirlii, Getafe in the Europa League, Sivasspor and Besiktas.

The Italian born forward has been in imperious form for Tranzonspor since joining from English Championship side Leeds United.

He joins Abdulkader Omur and Yusuf Sari in the treatment room.

In his absence coach Unal Karaman will be forced to depend on former Liverpool forward Daniel Sturridge and on-loan Crystal Palace forward Adam Sorloth.
