Ghana Premier League giants, Kumasi Asante Kotoko are set to intensify their preparations for the first leg fixture of their second-round tie against Etoile du Sahel in the CAF Champions League this weekend.

Nicknamed the Porcupine Warriors, the team sailed through the first round with some fine display against Nigerian side Kano Pillars.

Despite losing the away fixture 3-2, the Kumasi-based club returned home to post a 2-0 win over their opponent to secure qualification to the next round courtesy a 4-3 aggregate win.

Now billed to face Tunisian giants Etoile Sportive du Sahel, Kotoko is expected to intensify training this week to ensure they adequately prepare for the first leg of the encounter which will likely be played on Sunday, September 15, 2019, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

They have been given a huge boost ahead of the match with the return of dangerous forward Sogne Yacouba who recently gained full fitness.

In addition to that, experienced midfielder Jordan Opoku, as well as new signing Augustine Okrah, have all been given the clear to feature in the match after missing the Kano Pillars tie.

The Reds go into the fixture after playing one high profile game against Obuasi Ashanti Gold in the BK Adusei foundation cup which they, unfortunately, lost on penalties.

The Kotoko team will return to training this morning at Adako Jachie and will hold another session later in the afternoon.
