Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, George Amoako has tipped the club to eliminate Nigerian club Kano Pillars at the end of the first qualifying round of the CAF Champions League.

The Ghana Premier League side is currently trailing from the first leg where they narrowly lost 3-2 and will need to win without conceding to safely sail through after the second leg of the encounter.

With both clubs currently intensifying training for the crucial game, George Amoako has stressed that he is fully confident the Porcupine Warriors will knock out their Kano-based opponent to ensure they progress into the second round.

According to him, his side impressed in the away fixture and that gives him hope that the Reds will be able to see off Kano Pillars at the end of the first qualifying round.

“Look at my team, Kotoko, they did not play top 100% but I can give them 75% which is good enough for this team we are putting together. We have a good future to look forward to”.

“Three two away in Kano. What do you expect in Kumasi? We are going to qualify but the help of God”, the experienced football administrator shared in a recent interview.

The fixture is expected to play at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, August 25, 2019.
