Accra Hearts of Oak has halted in-form Karela United in their tracks by posturing a 1-0 result over them in the ongoing Ghana Football Association (GFA) Normalization Committee (NC) Special Competition.
The two teams have been the best in their division after 11 games played and went into their match week 12 fixture looking for an important victory that would see either of them going top of the standings.
At the end of an exciting and high-intensity football, it was the Phobians that reigned supreme as the revenged the 1-0 loss they suffered at the hands of Karela when they played as guests to them at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in the early stage of the competition.
Hearts defender Christopher Bonney scored the only goal of the match through a penalty kick awarded after Daniel Kodie was fouled in the 18-yard box.
The result means the Rainbow boys maintain their 1st position on the Premier B standings ahead of the other participating teams. They are now 4 points clear at the top and in a good position to qualify to the next phase of the competition.
Next up for the Accra based side, they will host Elmina Sharks at home on Sunday, May 19, 2019.
