The Ghana National u20 team, the Black Satellites today defeated West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) by two goals to one a friendly game.

In a match that was played at the Ghanaman Soccer School of Excellence as part of preparation ahead of the AFCON U-20 qualifier against Benin, it was the Satellites who came out victorious.

The male u20 team opened the scoring after just seven minutes into the first half. Liberty Professionals player Elvis Kyei Baffour found the Back of the net to give Satellites into the lead.

Both sides pushed for an equalizer from there on but were unable to bury their chances. The first half of the game ended one zero in favour of the u20 team.

WAFA started the second half very strongly poised to get the equalizer that will level the game. On the 50th minute mark, Godwin Bentil equalized to restore parity. The game became open as both sides tried to find a second goal to put their team in the lead.

Dreams FC right-back, Maxwell Arthur secured the victory for the Satellites when he found the back of the net later in the second half. At the end of the ninety minutes, it was Arthur’s goal which made the difference to ensure the Satellites run away with the victory.

The Black Satellites are currently preparing to play Benin for the final qualifying match of the u20 AFCON. The first leg of the match will be played early next month.

This friendly is meant to prepare the lads for the crucial game. For WAFA, the friendly is to keep their players fit and in good shape as football in the country is currently suspended.
