Mr Kofi Addo Agyekume Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kofikrom Pharmacy, has cautioned members of the national armwrestling team, Golden Arms to avoid sex in order to excel at the upcoming Africa Armwrestling Championship.

He said having sex is a form of losing energy and the athletes would need the energy to compete for the event and therefore pleaded with them to stay away from it from now till after the competition period.

Mr Addo Agyekum gave this advice when members of the team paid a courtesy call on him at his Kofikrom Pharmacy office in Accra before they moved to camp.

The Africa Armwrestling Championship would be held at the DG Hathramani Sports Hall at the Accra Sports Stadium from Thursday, July 26, 2018, to Sunday, July 29, 2018.

The CEO who also doubles as the Vice President of the Ghana Armwrestling Federation (GAF), urged the athletes to avoid alcohol during the period, desist from bad diet, anger, overstretching and daydreaming.

He appealed to them to be each other's keeper through the championship and desist from being jealous and other negative attitudes that will mar the progress made by the organisers of the event.

He also took the athletes through basic principles in life and advised them to have the right 'Attitude, Skill and Knowledge' (ASK) to succeed in their chosen fields.

He added that they should also 'Push Until they Maintain Perfection' (PUMP) and also avoid inferiority complex since they are better than the opponents they are going to face.

The Club chairman also told them to be consistent with their training and drink more water and also do more solitary confinement within this period.

He wished them well and urged them to push for the host and win agenda for Ghana.

About 15 African countries with over 100 athletes are expected to assemble for what could be described as the biggest armwrestling event in the country and the continent as a whole.

Participating countries are; Benin, Cameroon, Egypt, Kenya, South Africa, Seychelles, Mauritius, Morocco, Mali, Nigeria, Togo, Madagascar, Uganda and host country Ghana.

The event is sponsored by K-Balm Ointment from Kofikrom Pharmacy, Go On Energy Drink from Twellium Industries Limited, Erata Hotel, Awards Center, I-Level Media, Henry's Inn, GAPTE and with support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) and the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA).
