Chartered flight for Ghanaian soccer fans

Accra, Sept. 22, GNA - As the Black Stars gear up to seal their qualification for next year's World Cup; in Germany, a number of individuals and corporate bodies are contributing their widow's mite, in order to be part of the anticipate d historic feat of the squad and to keep the national dream alive.

One of such organisation is Bahmed Travel and Tours, the official travel agents of the Ghana Football Association.

The company is organising a chartered flight for Ghanaian soccer fans who wish to witness the decisive Group Two match of the Stars against the national team of the fellow West African country, Cape Verde, on Saturday, October 8.

Alhaji Ahmed Bandoh, Chief Executive Officer of Bahmed told GNA Sports in Accra that it was part of his contribution to ensure total victory for the Black Stars.

Each soccer fan would be required to pay a token fee of a little over 500 dollars, which is far below the 1,600 dollars charged by commercial aircrafts.

The supporters would leave the country on the morning of the crucial match and return immediately after the game. Interested fans are to contact the offices of Bahmed Travel and Tours at Osu and East Legon respectively.

The Stars top the group with 18 points, three more points than South Africa and DR Congo, which have 15 points each, while Burkina Faso is on 12 points.

Ghana's opponent, Cape Verde Islands, has 10 points while Uganda is perched at the bottom with just seven points.

A local component of the Black Stars will leave Accra on Sunday, October 2, to join the foreign legions in Portugal before trekking to the former Portuguese colony on Tuesday, October 4, to fine tune ahead of the crucial match. Ghana needs just a draw to make the World Cup dream real. 22 Sept. 05
