NGO donates footballs to Colts clubs


Cape Coast Sept. 4, GNA - Project Global of California, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) on Saturday donated 56 footballs worth 22.4 million cedis to the Central Region Juvenile (Colts) Association at the Robert Mensah Sports stadium. Mr Victor Tieku, Programme Director of the organisation who made the presentation, said 36 out of the balls are to be given to the Winneba District branch of the Association while the rest goes to the Cape Coast District.

Mr Tieku who is based in California, USA promised to send more soccer kits to the Association.

Nana Ato Arthur, Deputy Central Regional Minister who received the balls on behalf of the Association thanked Mr Tieku for his gesture and for initiating and supporting such a laudable package for the youth of the area. He said he had the hope that other Ghanaians based in the US will do same to help develop youth soccer. Present at the presenting ceremony was Ms Christine Churcher, Member of Parliament for Cape Coast and Minister for Science and Environment.
