Nii Lante Laments On Poor Sporting Facilities

Former Youth and Sports Minister, Edwin Nii Lante Vnaderpuye, has bemoaned on the poor nature of sporting facilities in the country.

Under his auspices as the Sports Minister, his government was able to build the Bukom Boxing Arena with the aim of developing boxing talents.

The Boxing Arena has hosted numerous boxing matches but the Member of Parliament for the people of Odododiodio constituency has called on the government to construct facilities that will help develop talents in the country.

Speaking to Class FM on Monday, the former GBC worker said, “Boxing has transformed because you had a government that thought about the fact that facilities are a contributing factor to the development of talents and the promotion of sports and that was why we did anything possible to put up the Bukom Boxing Arena and that has been the catalyst for interest in boxing.

“When we do same for our various football pitches, football will go up. Whether you like it or not good facilities are a sine qua non for good performance. If you don’t have the facilities there is no way you can have the results.” He added.
