Former Ghanaian international, Awudu Isaaka has averred that the Black Starlets quarter-finals clash with Mali will be tough but he expects Ghana to triumph over the Malians.

Mali, who are currently the African champions defeated Ghana in the Africa Youth Championship held in Gabon by a lone goal and prior to the world cup in India, both played a friendly and again the Starlets were defeated by 2:1 in UAE.

However, Black Starlets defeated their Nigerien counterpart by 2:0 on Wednesday in Mumbai to progress to the quarter-finals in the ongoing competition where they will face familiar foes Mali.

And according to the 1995 U-17 World Cup winner, Isaaka is not perturbed by the ruthless form of Mali in the competition but has urged the Black Starlets to be tactically disciplined against the Malians.

“The match will be difficult but I expect the Black Starlets to beat the Malians if they stay discipline on the field of play and curtail the attacking prowess of the Malians which normally instigated by the playmaker Salam Giddou.

“The Black Starlets do not have the playmaker role so they would have coordinate play on the field of play which I think would help them if they are to beat the Malians,” Isaaka told Sportsnetghana.com

The highly anticipated clash between the two West African giants would take place at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Saturday at 11:30 am.
