Head coach of Tema Youth Football Club, Edward Nii Odoom disclosed that the Ghana Premier League (GPL) is not won on merit since all clubs have been bribing referees to win matches.
The issue of referees involved in bribery allegation in the GPL has being a major problem running the local league but the vociferous coach says all clubs have been bribing match officials and he will not even exempt his club Tema Youth.
“Clubs have always influence referees in our league and that’s why some of us will not continue coaching any premier league side again at the end of this season.” He told Accra based Hot FM.
“How can you prepare your team and put them into good condition, just for a referee to cheat you and rob you in the name of favoring your opponent. This is really bad and must be uprooted from our league,” he said.
The Habour Boys who battling to escape relegation are currently occupying the 14th position on the league log with 37 points.
