Bring Back Striker Eric Bekoe - Kotoko Fans Angrily Tell Dr. Kwame Kyei

Some aggrieved fans of twice African Champions,Kumasi Asante Kotoko have appealed to the current board chairman of the club Dr Kwame Kyei to bring back their former striker Eric Bokoe.

Kotoko, who were hoping to get the three points to end a run of poor performances in recent times, had their woes deepened as they are yet to record a win in eight games after settling for a goalless drawn game with Tema Youth at the Baba Yara Sport Stadium in the final 1st round premiere league match on Sunday in Kumasi.

Their poor performance led to the sacking of their former Croatian coach Zdravko Logarusic who has been succeeded by the current coach Steven pollack.

Speaking with Razzonline.com after their match with Tema Youth on Sunday,fans of the Porcupine Warriors indicated that,the only solution to their woes is to bring back their former daredevil striker Eric bekoe.

The agitated fans appealed to the board chairman Dr Kwame Kyei to bring back Eric Bekoe else they would boycott Kotoko matches.

In 2007/08, Eric Bekoe with a total of 17 goals in 23 matches became the “Goal King” (top scorer) of the One Touch Premier League and League Champion with Kotoko.He also won the Presidents Cup with them in the same year.

On December 6, 2008, Bekoe signed a four and half years contract with Egypt Premier League club Petrojet. He was set to join Egypt giants Zamalek, but instead Petrojet made a very quick move and the player welcomed it.

He became the third non-Egyptian player for the club. His goal tally so far stands at 22 goals in 28 games in all competitions.

He made his debut for Ghana by coming off the bench in a friendly match against Mexico on March 26, 2008 and played in the first World Cup Qualification games against Gabon and Libya.

Eric Bekoe currently plays for Sekondi Hasaacas in the division one league.
