The 2017 Milo U13 Inter Schools Football competition has been launched and will kick off on Saturday, May 17, 2017 with Zone 1, for the northern sector regions at Tamale Tamasco and Nobisco till May 19, 2017.

The competition moves to Sunyani (SUSEC) from May 24, 2017 to May 26, 2017 for the Ashanti and Brong Ahafo regions forming Zone 2.

The Western and Central regions who form Zone 3 will play from 31 May, 2017 to June 2, 2017 at the Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS), before the Zone 4 matches for the Greater Accra, Eastern and Volta regions at Presec Legon from June 7, 2017 to June 9, 2017.

The schools from the Greater Accra region include Ashiaman No5 Basic from Ashiaman Municipal, Akweiman M/A Primary from Ga South, St. Justin Anglican Primary from Ga Central Municipal and Teshie Camp 2A & B Primary from Ledzokuku Krowor Municipal.

Representing the Eastern region are Petals Education Center from Nkawkaw, Future Leader Int. from Adukrom, Osorase R/C Primary from Akim Osorase and Bepong Methodist Primary from Kwahu-Bepong.

Representing the Volta region are Nkwanta Redeem Primary from Nkwanta South, Abotoaso D/A Primary from Biakoye, Fieve D/A Primary from South Tongu and Fiekpe D/A Primary from North Tongu.

Representing the Upper West region are Saki Basic School from Sisala East, Zini Basic School from Sisala East, Funsi R/C Basic School from Wa East and Piina Primary School from Lambushie.

Representing the Northern region are St. Joseph’s Primary from Tamale, Bagabaga Annex Primary from Sagnariu, Experimantal Primary from Savelugu and Buipe Primary from Central Gonga.

Representing the Upper East region are Mother Theresa Primary from Bawku, Mother of Mercies Primary from K.N. West, Kpatia Primary School from Garu Tempani and Saporo Primary School from Bongo.

Representing the Central region are SDA Primary School from Agona Swedru, Dunkwakrom D/A Primary from Diaso, Kyekyewere M/A Primary from Dunkwa on Offinso, Assin Methodist Primary from Apam and two other qualifiers.

Representing the Western region are St. Monica’s Anglican Primary from Amenfi East, Kanaso D/A Primary from Bibiani, St. Philips Prep. School from Bia West, Kwamekrom D/A Primary from Ahanta West, Prestea SDA Primary from Prestea Huni Valley and Bethel Methodist Primary from Sekondi Takoradi.

The grand final has been scheduled for June 20 to June 24, 2017 at Elmina.

Mrs. Fumi Osineye (Category Manager, Beverages) said the competition will run for four weeks and for this year, loyal customers of Milo and Nestle will be rewarded with attractive prizes like special water bottles, gym bag, lunch box, drawstring bags, pencil cases and so much more by simply buying 2 packs of Milo 400g in selected Super Markets for an opportunity to win any of the prizes.

Mrs. Freda Duplan Managing Director of Nestle Ghana noted that success building in life starts with the right foundation, sports, mentoring and coaching provide a great opportunity to instill values that build future champions.

She hinted that during the league, sports icons such as Stephen Appiah will train the pupils on the basic football rudiments and imbibe them with values like Teamwork, Confidence, Respect and Focus.

“The Milo U13 Champions League soccer tournament, apart from unearthing sports talent of school-aged children also aims at promoting and demonstrating the importance of eating healthy and living an active lifestyle, while making these children ambassadors of healthy living” she expressed.
