Big Day For African Rugby: Who Is Who – Ghana Or Togo?

Ouro Koumoni Mahawiya, Coach of the Togo national Rugby team has called on his players to put up an improved performance against Ghana when they meet in the third group game of the Rugby Africa Regional Challenge at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

After losing 14 -12 to Benin, the Togolese who are regarded as one of the tough opponents in African Rugby have to stretch themselves to beat the Eagles of Ghana who are not only motivated by home advantage, but slf belief and inspiration to be the best.

Ghana’s team coach Lovemore Dallars Kuzerera from Zimbabwe believes his players are picking up their form and very soon they will top the continent.

He was optimistic Ghana will rout Togo, as his player are also physically and psychologically tuned up for battle and they are ready to support each other.

Sports engagements between Ghana and Togo have always been held in friendly hostility, and this one would not be an exception though it is Rugby.

Sports fans are invited to come to the Accra Sports Stadium to watch the match.

Rugby is all that popular to attract big crowds, but Mr. Herbert Mensah, President of the Ghana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) feels the tide can change and Ghanaians will start to appreciate sporting disciplines like Rugby, Baseball, Cricket, Handball, Taekwondo, Judo, Swimming, Weightlifting, Kick Boxing and others often described or termed as lesser known or least financed sports.
