Black Stars Skipper, Asamoah Gyan has stated emphatically that, his colleagues aim at retaliating against the Pharaohs of Egypt tonight (Weds 25/01/2017).
The four time African champions have sailed through to the quarter finals of the on-going Nations cup but are left with a final group game against Egypt. The Black Stars were defeated in a World Cup qualifier last year by Egypt and the players have vowed to get revenge for that loss to bring joy to Ghanaians.
“They have a new team right now and good players as well. We cannot base today on history. As we always say, we are coming for revenge. They beat us in a qualifier at home and we want to come for revenge…we want to make our country happy and we want to win. That is what we want to do.”
He maintained further that Egyptian coach Hector Cuper’s tactical approach cannot hamper black stars chances. “It does not matter the kind of tactics they bring on the table, we also have a great coach who has his tactics. That makes the game very interesting. We are winning.”
Black stars could face either Morocco or DR. Congo at the quarter finals.
