Accra, June 15, GNA - The quarter finals of the MTN FA Cup will kick start this weekend with five premier league clubs and three division one clubs in contention for the much coveted trophy.

Among the Division one clubs in the last eight of this year's MTN FA Cup is Okwahu United, who have enjoyed a resurgence this season under the stewardship of new head coach, Mohammed Gargo.

Okwahu United have had a fairly good run of form thus far in the GN Bank Division one league -lying fifth in Zone three with five points, behind leaders Great Olympics - and qualifying for the last eight of the cup competition for the first time in five years.

The Nkawkaw based side have not had it easy en-route to this stage of the competition either, having played premier league sides (Dreams FC and Hassacas FC) in all of their two previous cup matches this season.

However, Gargo admits their match against WAFA this Saturday at the Nkawkaw Stadium is another tall order for his side. 'It is a big match playing WAFA. I know WAFA, they are a well-organized side. A club that has everything to do with football,' said the former New Edubiase coach in an interview with the GNA sports.

WAFA is the third consecutive premiership side Okwahu is playing in this year's competition, a challenge Gargo loves.

'I like challenges and I love playing against big clubs. My advantage is that they are used to playing fine football on fine pitches and my pitch is not fine as theirs. So I am going to win.'

Meanwhile, the 1992 Olympic football bronze medalist is confident of taking the 'Asaase Aban' boys to this year's final depending on the outcome of this game. 'If I am able to beat WAFA then the door will be opened.'

Liberty Professional will begin the quarter final fixtures on Friday when they host Elmina Sharks at the Dansoman Alhaji Sly Tetteh Park, whilst the Baba Yara Stadium host an all premier league affair between Asante Kotoko and Bechem United on Sunday.

Premier league leaders Wa All Stars will feature in a local derby at the Wa Park against Wa Rockets on Sunday in the last of the quarter final pairings.

The final is scheduled for the new Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Sunday, August 28.
