Central Region Basic Schools to hold sports festival

Cape Coast Jan 10, GNA - More than 1,500 sports boys and girls will participate in this year's Central Region Basic Schools Zonal Under-12 Sports Festival to be held from January 14 to January 30 at Ajumako, Twifo Praso and Gomoa townships.

Disciplines to be competed for will include athletics, soccer, table tennis, netball and volleyball.

According to Mr Samuel Kotcha Brew, the Regional Physical Education Organiser, the Zone One Districts made up of Cape Coast, Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem, Mfantsiman and Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam will hold their festival at Ajumako from Friday, January 14 to Sunday January 16.

He said the Districts in Zone Two comprising Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese, Twifo-Heman-Lower-Denkyira, Upper Denkyira and Assin will hold their festival at Twifo Praso from January 21 to January 23, while Districts in Zone Three made up of Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa, Gomoa, Agona and Awutu-Effutu-Senya will hold their festival at Gomoa from January 28 to 30.
