Mantey wins Achimota seniors Golf championship

Accra, Dec 20, GNA - Teye Mantey returned 69 net to win the Achimota Golf Club seniors Championship played at Achimota on Sunday. Mantey who played 40 in round one and 39 in round two with a handicap of 14 will now play to a new handicap of 12. Brigadier Joseph Odei came second with 71 net while Joel Hyde took the third spot with 73 net.

Elizabeth Quartey won the ladies event with 70 net, Maria Ben-George was second with 71 net while Betty Allotey placed third with 72 net.

The event, sponsored by the club was opened to senior members aged 65 years and above.

Mr John Atta Nyamekye, President of the Achimota golf club Seniors group praised members for their support and announced that the group will hold elections next month to elect officers.
