Tarkwa (W/R) Oct 26 GNA - Mr. Albert K. Andoh, Chairman of the Powerful Angels Ladies Football Club based at Cyanide Estate, a suburb of Tarkwa has appealed for support and sponsorship to help the club develop. He said such assistance would not only boost the morale of players but it would ensure that the club becomes a formidable side. Mr. Andoh made the appeal through GNA Sports at the club's training sessions at Tarkwa on Monday.
He said the club, which depends on voluntary contributions from supporters and sympathisers have for the past years been working hard to win recognition and ensure its sustainance. Mr. Andoh said despite its precarious financial position, the club has so far defeated some ladies football clubs such as Wassa Afamasi Ladies, Golden Ladies and Tamso Stars in the area in their recent encounters.
He said due to the hard work of the team their player, Semilatu Biney, aged 15 years was recently invited to the camp of the National Black Princess team. Matilda Dwamena and Diana Mensah also received the able goalkeeper and best goalkeeper awards respectively at a recent awards ceremony.
