Deputy Minister congratulates Ghanaian clubs

Accra, July 27, GNA- Mr Joe Aggrey, Deputy Minister of Education, Youth and Sports on behalf of the Government and people and on his own behalf on Tuesday, extended congratulatory messages to the players and officials of the four Ghanaian clubs who engaged in international matches at the week end for their encouraging performance.

The message especially commended the national Women's team, the Black Queens, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra hearts of Oak for their resounding victories in their respective matches.

Mr Aggrey in the message sent through the GNA Sports also highly commended Liberty Professionals for putting up such a brave fight, even though they lost to their opponents and urged them to put the defeat behind them and prepare adequately towards the future.

The Deputy Minister said the victories of the Ghanaian clubs "Do not only show your superiority over your opponents but also they also attest to the fact that Ghana is still a strong force to reckon with on the African continent when it comes to football."

Mr Aggrey added that the success chalked has made Ghanaians happy and proud, and that it is hoped that they would work harder in order to achieve greater feats in the various competitions in which they are participating.

Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko have both qualified for the mini league stage of the Confederations Cup while the Black Queens have also qualified for the next stage of the competition in South Africa.
