Real Madrid: Marcelo ruled out against Dortmund
Bad news for Real Madrid on the eve of their very important match of the quarterfinals of the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund. The Spanish club announced on Tuesday that Marcelo, left-back, suffered a muscle tear in his left thigh and will likely not be in action in the meeting against the Germans.
“After examination, Marcelo was diagnosed with a first level torn in the left hamstring muscles,” can be read in a Real statement, adding that the downtime would depend on the evolution of the injury.
According to the website of sports daily Marca , Marcelo will miss two weeks. He could also miss the return leg. Fabio Coentrao is expected to take his place.
