Zone 3A leaders, Nania FC's quest to join the elite league received a boost when they beat Emirates SC 2-0 on Sunday to seal their Middle League dream at the Nania Park at Legon.

Nania, which dominated from start to finish, scored in both halves through Aswanzy Baffoe and Ackah with headers.

Other Middle League bound teams are Tema Youth, Medeama, BA Stars, Universal Stars and Mine Stars.

Happenings from the Division One League Board suggests that results of this weekend's games will determine which other teams join the teams that have already picked their Middle League tickets. In all, two teams are expected to qualify from the three Zones.

Hockey gala May 1
A probe carried out by The Chronicle Sports last weekend pointed to the fact that plans are far advanced for the push off of the annual hockey gala competition slated for the National Hockey Stadium on May 1.

The forthcoming hockey fiesta, as usual will usher in this year's hockey season which will be sponsored by the financial institution giants, NDK Financial Services.

It was Bank of Ghana's Exchequers who reigned supreme in last year's edition.
