Ghana won the game 4-1 Ghana key players Michael Essien and Asamoah Gyan were on target as the Black Stars beat Great Mariners 4-1 in their final warm-up before the weekend's World Cup qualifier against Benin.

Captain Stephen Appiah and Moussa Narry also scored for the national team as they strolled to the victory at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Coach Milovan Rajevac played with what looked like his second string side in the first half of the game and the local league side took a lead through Thomas Soglo after just eight minutes.

But the Black Stars fluffed several scoring chances until France-based Narry headed in a cross to restore parity.

The national team took the lead few moments later after impressive Ibrahim Ayew made a light work of three defenders before sending inch-perfect cross which Gyan connected with diving header.

The key player took aver after the break and striker Prince Tagoe set up Essien, who put the ball at the blind side of the shot-stopper.

Ghana wrapped up the win when captain Stephen Appiah converted a spot kick after Sulley Muntari was brought down in the box.

The Black Stars will leave Accra for Kumasi on Thursday ahead of Sunday's opening 2010 World Cup qualifying clash with Benin at the Baba Yara Stadium.
