Ghana move up in Fifa ranking

The Black Stars have moved one place up on the latest Fifa ranking released on Wednesday morning for the month of March.

 
 
Ghana was placed 35th last month after a heavy fall on the in February but are now placed 34th.

Cameroun are Africa's highest ranked nation on 16th place followed by Nigeria and Egypt on 24th and 31st spots respectively.

 
A total of 52 'A' matches have been played since the last edition of the ranking, bringing this year's total to 135.

Of these 52 matches, 41 were friendlies, ten were Fifa World Cup qualifiers and one was an Asian Cup qualifier between Australia and Kuwait (1-0).

The most valuable match in terms of points this month was the World Cup qualifier played between the USA and Mexico (2-0).

 
Ghana play Benin at home on 28 March in the 2010 joint Nations Cup/World Cup qualifier.
